Expecting & New Parent Circles

Coming together, particularly during a pandemic may feel exciting, awkward, nerve wracking, essential and nourishing. We are here for all of it and are looking forward to learning how to be together again right alongside you.

Check out our in-person expecting parent circles and new parent groups, currently held at Black Bird Bookstore & Cafe.

creating family hubs

Recess Collective activates spaces specifically to support the needs of caregivers and infants. This powerful model brings folks together to organically reduce stress and early adversity that harms the developing brains and bodies of children.

The pandemic accelerated our strategic plan to create a mobile version of our beloved brick and mortar space, and in 2021, Recess on Wheels was born. With this new format, we have the potential to bring play to infinitely more families and change the experience for new parents with young children.

community events

Whether it’s a neighborhood playgroup or a community meet-up, we provide the set up and amenities to make your organization’s outdoor event a success.

Parenting is a difficult job. We're here to help make it a little bit easier. Recess partners with vetted experts — pediatricians, nurses, psychologists, educators and more — to help you learn how to support your child’s development (and preserve your own sanity!).

Grab one of our activity kits to keep your child busy and learning. Or donate a kit to a family in need. Local delivery included.

You can help bring "recess” to more families

Your contribution, whether it’s in the form of time or money, has the power to support healthy development for all families. Tax-deductible donations of any amount will go toward designing community spaces, bringing essential programming to families and bringing play to young children throughout the city.
