Summer is for Stress Free Enrichment

Looking for something a little less structured? Our daily Playspace Activities allow children to come and go as they please. 

They're developmentally appropriate & available to members during open play (without any pre-planning or registration!).  

• Mondays 9:30am (last mon of the month): Little Ladybug Music Class with Toby (0-4y)

• Mondays 10am: Storytime with Pat in the Playspace (0-4y)

• Mondays Noon: New Parent Meet Up in the community room (0-12mo)

• Tuesdays 11am: Story and Songs in the Playspace (0-4y) 

• Thursdays Noon: Storytime with Judy in the Playspace (0-4y) 

• Thursdays 4:30-5pm: Big Block Play (1-4y)

• Fridays at 11am: Family Yoga (0-4y)

• One Sat/mo 10am: Live Cello (0-4y)

Spring Fest Fundraiser at Recess Collective

Our first annual fundraiser is shaping up to be an awesome afternoon of family fun.

Join us on Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 1-5pm.

Tickets include an afternoon with live music, face painting, play, food & drink and a raffle.

Proceeds will go toward offering subsidized memberships to families in need, enhancing the playspace with additional interactive exhibits, and bringing in local artists and musicians.

• The Schedule!
  - Local musician, Charity Kahn, will play from 3:30-415.
  - Miss Nicki will be doing face painting 2-4:30pm
  - Pumpspotting will be on site with their 40 foot RV featuring breastfeeding amenities
  - The Playspace will be open for free play,
  and
  - Art activities and sensory play available throughout the afternoon.

• Raffle!
  Enter for your chance to win prizes from local businesses & restaurants, such as Messy Art Lab, Gift Certificate to Monkei Miles, Tunnel Records prize pack, a weekend in Sea Ranch.

• Food and drink will also be available from our neighborhood local businesses!

I think we can all agree that being a parent is tough no matter how you slice it. It's sweet, and cuddly and rewarding...but it's also really trying at times. We're here to make it a little bit easier at Recess Collective.

Family Yoga - Healthy From the Start | Member Benefit

Twice weekly, join us for playspace yoga —Mondays 11-1130 and Thursdays at 430pm— a wonderful, playful activity filled with both creative partner and individual poses.  Inspiration comes from animals to create an interactive introduction to yoga for your 1 to 4 year olds and their loving parents/family members. This time of being present without expectations is a sweet gift and a huge bonding opportunity for families.    

A child's job in this song-and play-filled activity is to explore and learn through observation, modeling and repetition. Grown-ups are there to connect, model mindfulness and have fun.  

While not nearly as serene as your typical yoga class, parent and child yoga at Recess introduces the same mental and physical benefits as other yoga activities: peace of mind, relaxation, and increased bodily strength and flexibility.

Like all of our playspace activities, Family yoga is a great way to break away from feeling over-scheduled, stressed-out, and just plain busy.
